Well, today is my last day at home before the new job officially starts on Monday.
I find it semi amusing that my word of the year for 2019 is reconcile, and I’m going back into the retail banking arena. God has a great sense of humor.
It feels good to be turning the page into a new chapter of my life, but also a little nerve wracking to think about.
I’ve been doing a lot of studying, a lot of thinking, and a whole bunch of planning. But the one thing I didn’t do – was write. No new words at all.
For nearly a year, I was in the routine of writing for an hour and a half each morning before I went to work. That routine was busted because I didn’t feel the urgency of that time. Meaning, I told myself I could do something else during that time because, “I have all day to write.”
But I didn’t. I didn’t write, because I didn’t intentionally set aside time to do so. This tells me a lot about the importance of a routine in my life.
Being intentional is vital. What do you need to be intentional about each day? What one thing can you make routine each day that will make your day easier and more productive?
Next week will be – less than predictable. Starting a new job means new schedules, new routes to work, and new rhythms for each day, but I’ll finally be able to reset my routines.
I’m excited. I’m nervous. It’s going to be amazing!
Hope Always! MLB
Good luck on all you set out to accomplish this year. I know it will be a great one.
Thank you, Pam! I’m sorry it took me so long to reply. The new website puts the notifications in a different place, and I didn’t see them.
